About the Customer:

Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. is the first majority-owned joint venture by Audi in China. Audi officially started a project to localize the production of pure electric models based on the PPE platform in the Chinese market. The new production site in Changchun, Jilin Province will be Audi's first fully electric plant in China. All processes in the new plant will be intelligently connected through a new IT architecture and the "Mission: Zero" program will be implemented to promote sustainable production.

About the Project:

Audi will invest around EUR 2.6 billion in the project, including the establishment of a new company and a new production site. The new plant, which has a planned annual production capacity of 150,000 units, is scheduled to start production of electric vehicles based on the PPE platform specifically for the Chinese market by the end of 2024, and will fully promote the electrification of Audi's model lineup in China.

Huber & Ranners’ Plan:

Huber & Ranner Air Conditioning was responsible for the plant ventilation and air conditioning and process air conditioning parts of this project. This project is the design, manufacture, factory inspection, packaging and transportation, on-site assembly, commissioning and trial operation, final acceptance, technical training and after-sales service of air conditioning units and ethylene glycol equipment, including water pipes and their connections between water valve groups, ethylene glycol valve groups and equipment.

The project has a total of 20 air conditioning boxes, a total air volume of more than 1.5 million CMH, 6 sets of ethylene glycol heat recovery systems, 20 sets of cold and hot water valve groups, including damper electric actuators, motors and various sensors.

Design Essentials:

a) Large air volume unit, the maximum air volume of a single unit is 249,000CMH, and the total air volume of the project exceeds 1.5 million CMH

b) Design, manufacture and installation of ethylene glycol heat recovery (including hot water refueling) system

c) Design, manufacture and installation of cold and hot water valve manifolds

d) The exhaust side adopts a plug-in direct fan without volute, and the throat is explosion-proof

e) Equipped with Lavair fully imported washable humidifier

f) 105/70°C high temperature hot water, hot water coil copper pipe thickening treatment

g) The bottom of the unit has water pans

h) Overcoming the difficulties such as short production cycle, small construction time and difficult construction. Furthermore the responsibility is not only for the supply of the air conditioning units, but also for the construction of water valves and water pipelines related to it.
